Real Techniques Miracle Sponge Reviews

Welcome to my Real Techniques Miracle Sponge Review. Real Techniques are without a doubt my favourite makeup brush brand and I have lots of their brushes. They are great quality, wash well and have a huge range of different of brushes to choose from.

Over the past couple of years, we have seen makeup sponges come back in to our beauty regimes. Using a damp sponge to apply your foundation and concealer creates a flawless, natural look. I have used the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for a couple of years now. It is a great sponge with comparisons to high end brands like the Beauty Blender constantly being applied to it. So, keeping on top of their game, Real Techniques have released a mass of different beauty sponges over the past few months and I am going to review a few in this post.

Miracle Complexion Sponge

Miracle Complexion Sponge

I thought I would start with the Miracle Complexion Sponge as this was my first introduction to the Real Technique Miracle Sponge range.

Claims:

  • Rounded sides blend large areas of the face with a dabbing motion.
  • Precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections.
  • Flat edge for contouring around the eyes and nose.
  • Ideal for liquid foundation.
  • Latex free.

Application:

I use the Miracle Complexion Sponge damp to blend my concealer out under my eyes and around my nose. By using the sponge and dabbing at my face I am not disturbing any of the makeup under my eyes. I use it damp as I find it blends smoothly and lightens the feel of the makeup, which I prefer. I love the different sides and angles of the sponge. It really allows you to get into hard to reach areas with the pointed end and also allows you to use the flat edge for larger areas. It makes the finish flawless.

Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges

Claims (same as large version):

  • Rounded sides blend large areas of the face with a dabbing motion.
  • Precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections.
  • Flat edge for contouring around the eyes and nose.
  • Ideal for liquid foundation.
  • Latex free.

Application:

These are simply mini versions of the Miracle Complexion Sponge. I used them damp to blend in my concealer around my eyes. Size wise, they fit in well. However, if I am honest they are a bit fiddly and I am quite happy with the bigger version as I can use that around my face. They create the naturel flawless finish just as the larger version, but I feel the larger version creates a smoother finish as you can use it across your whole face

Miracle Cleansing Sponge

Claims:

  • Cleanses and exfoliates
  • Latex free
  • Ideal for facial cleansing
  • Gently exfoliates away dirt, oil, and makeup for a smooth complexion.
  • Shaped to reach all contours of your face

Application:

I have been using the miracle cleansing sponge for a few weeks and it is by far my favourite of the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge range. I absolutely love it. I apply my Neutrogena facial wash and then use the sponge damp in small circles around my face to cleans and exfoliate my skin. I use it twice a day. It really clears away dead cells and leaves my skin feeling really soft and cleansed. It is shaped like the Miracle Complexion Sponge with different angles and sides, allowing you to get in all the contours of the face. Meaning I can use it on my cheeks and around my nose.

My Overall Opinion:

Real Techniques sponges are great tools to have in your makeup kit. They blend your makeup out smoothly leaving a flawless natural finish. They wash well and they live up to all the claims. If you were only going to get one I would definitely recommend the Miracle Cleansing Sponge as it really cleanses and exfoliates the face to create a flawless base for your makeup. We all know you can apply all the makeup in the world but if your skincare routine is not great you will never end up with a flawless natural finish to your makeup. So, the Miracle Cleansing Sponge is a great place to start.
