Bidding Goodbye to Unwanted Body Hair the Natural Way

Natural Methods of Waxing

Hair on the head looks beautiful. But when the same sprouts on the other parts of the body like upper lips, chin, under arms, arms and legs, it can be quite annoying and even embarrassing too. Most of us end up spending large amount of time getting them waxed, shaving them or removing them using a hair removing cream.

However, if you are not sure about using artificial products on your skin, you can go the natural way and get rid of these. Don’t know how? Here are some easy home remedies which ensure efficient removal of unwanted hair from your body.

Natural Methods of Hair Removal

Raw Papaya

Papaya is rich in the enzyme, Papaine that can break down the hair follicles and eliminate the growth of unwanted hair. What’s more, it works as an excellent exfoliator and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. Make a paste by mixing the pulp of raw papaya with half a teaspoon of turmeric. Massage this paste to your face or other body parts, for about 15 minutes, using firm circular motions. Then clean your face with water. Repeating this procedure once or twice a week will reduce and eventually prevent the growth of unwanted hair.

Turmeric

Time and again, you hear that turmeric has great antiseptic and antibacterial properties. But, did you know that turmeric can also curb the growth of unwanted hair? Mix turmeric with milk to form a thick paste. Apply this paste to the area from where you want to remove unwanted hair. After the paste dries, use warm water to wash it off.

Chickpea Flour

Since time immemorial, chickpea flour has been used to reduce and stop the sprouting of unwanted hair. Using this on the skin also keeps it smooth and soft. In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, milk, turmeric and fresh cream to make a smooth and thick paste. Apply this paste on the areas where you have unwanted hair. After 30 minutes, start rubbing the paste off your body using firm motions of your fingers. Make sure that you rub in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Once you have removed all the paste, wash your face with water. In case, you have oily skin, you can avoid adding fresh cream to the mixture.

Lemon & Sugar

Lemon has natural bleaching properties and sugar is a natural exfoliator. When mixed together, these two can help in curbing the growth of unwanted hair. What’s more, the juice of lemon also lightens the color of the hair, making it less noticeable. Take 10 tablespoons of water in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and two teaspoons of lemon juice to this. Mix this well till the sugar dissolves. Using a cotton ball, apply this mixture in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Leave it on your face for 20 minutes or till it dries. Clean your face with water and use firm movements of your hands to rub off the mixture.

Egg White

Egg white can be as sticky as the wax that is used in the salon to remove unwanted hair. It sticks to the skin and when it is pulled off the hair gets caught in it and is easily removed. In a bowl mix 1 egg white, 1 tablespoon of sugar and ½ tablespoon of corn flour. Beat this mixture well to make a smooth paste. Apply this to the area from where you want to remove the hair. Let the paste dry and pull it off firmly.

The reason for excessive growth of unwanted hair in your body could be due to increase in the level of male hormones like androgens and testosterones. Eating foods rich in phytoestrogen will bring down the level of these hormones and thus control the growth of unwanted hair. Remember that home remedies are not as fast as the treatments in the salon. So, you need to be patient while trying these remedies.
