There are some easy ways to address the issue. But, before you start out on these, it would be a good idea to understand the reasons which could be causing pigmentation on your skin.

1. Potato

It has been proved that potatoes has some amazing properties which helps in reducing different skin problems like pigmentation, dark circles etc. One of the best and easiest ways to reduce pigmentation with potato is to cut it into slices and sprinkle some water over it. Use these slices to rub over the skin patches that show pigmentation. This ensures that the juice of the potato gets absorbed in the skin and works towards reducing the pigmentation.

In case, you have time, you can grate or blend the potato and squeeze out its juice. Applying this juice on the pigmentation and washing it off after half an hour would also yield amazing results. Regular application of potato on your skin for a month would bring about a great change.

2. Papaya

Papaya helps in generating new skin and removing the old skin. So, applying it on the skin would help in reducing pigmentation. For this, you need to grate the papaya and squeeze out its juice. Then apply this on the skin. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and wash off. Continuing this for a month would show considerable change in your skin.

3. Almond & Milk

Dryness of the skin can also cause pigmentation. Rich in natural fatty acids, almonds help in moisturising the skin, thereby reducing skin pigmentation. Coupled with milk which has skin whitening properties, this can work wonders for your skin. For this remedy, you need to soak the almonds for 10-12 hours. Then remove the skin of the almonds and grind it into a smooth paste with the milk. Apply this on the affected areas and wash off after 20 to 30 minutes. Regular application of this remedy would reduce the dark spots and makes your skin look radiant.

 

4. Avocado

This is not only a delicious fruit but also has some great healing properties. Rich in oleic acid, fatty acids and Vitamin C, avocado paste can be used to reduce pigmentation of the skin. Mash the avocado and apply it to the skin, washing it off after 20 minutes. You can also squeeze out its juice and apply this to your skin. However, it would be a good idea to test it on a patch of your skin as some people tend to be allergic to a certain enzyme present in Avocado.

5. Lemon & Honey

Lemon is a natural skin lightening agent. This when mixed with honey and applied on the skin, leaves your skin smooth and moisturised and also helps in reducing the spots. Squeeze out the juice of one lemon and mix 2 teaspoons of honey to it. Apply it on your face. After 20 minutes, wash your face using warm water. However, this remedy is not suitable for people who have a sensitive skin.

Apart from the above remedies, you also need to ensure that you protect your skin from over exposure to sun. So, make sure you apply sun screen with high SPF when venturing out into the sun. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and eat a healthy diet.
